Matsatsantsa a Pitori opened their new campaign with a very tough clash against defending PSL champions Mamelodi Sundowns, going down 2-0 at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

Kaitano Tembo has already been dealt a huge blow with news that influential player Aubrey Modiba will miss the clash against the Buccaneers after suffering a hamstring injury in their defeat to Masandawana. The 24-year-old has now been ruled out of competitive action for two weeks.

On the contrary, Bucs opened their league campaign in fine style, putting Bloemfontein Celtic to the sword with a 3-1 victory, courtesy of strikes from Augustine Mulenga, Innocent Maela and Gabadinho Mhango.

The Sea Robbers are likely to face Matsatsantsa without star-player Thembinkosi Lorch who has missed the team’s last two matches.

Lorch was reportedly snubbed due to a late fitness test he failed, however the rumour mill continues to spiral regarding a possible overseas move.
