Orlando Pirates head coach Milutin Sredojevic has reacted to recent speculations linking midfielder Thembinkosi Lorch with a move to a European club.
The Bafana Bafana star has been linked to French Ligue 1 side Toulouse as well as Percy Tau’s former club Union Saint-Gilloise, in the recent transfer window.
The 26-year-old missed the Buccaneers’ CAF Champions League preliminary round defeat (1-0) to Green Eagles in Zambia, however, ‘Micho’ has dismissed the speculations, highlighting that Lorch is Pirates’ key player.
“He has grown a lot and you can see that he always fights for the team. He is a player with a lot of creativity and as a team, we are proud to have him,” Sredejovic said in his press conference, according to KickOff.com.
“As a team, we are looking forward to competing in the [Absa Premiership] league and the Champions League, and Lorch is one of our key players.”
Pirates take on SuperSport United on Wednesday, August 14, for their second league match of the season.
