As Vita FC head coach Florent Ibenge has put a stop to all the rumours and speculations that he will be joining Kaizer Chiefs.
The 57-year-old resigned on Wednesday as the national coach of Democratic Republic of Congo after being with the team for five years.
The international coach has been linked with a move to the Glamour Boys leaving uncertainty in the future of Ernst Middendorp.
However the experience tactician has broken the silence stating he needs a break from football, after close to five years of work.
“I need rest, I have just had four years without rest. I am a human being, even if people call me Android. I need to rest too,” Ibenge told ACTUALITE, as reported by KickOff.com.
“I spoke with the leaders of [AS Vita Club], they gave me a long rest,” Ibenge added.
The former AS Vita coach returned to help Linafoot giants with pre-season training after leading The Leopards to the last-16 of the African Cup of Nations and did not hesitate to reply when asked about moving to Naturena.
“These are [just rumours from] social networks. We put out information and everyone thinks it’s true. As far as I’m concerned, if you didn’t see me speak [about it] personally, it’s fake news,” Ibenge explained.
“Do not believe what comes out except when I say,” concluded Ibenge.
