ANC cautions foreign nationals not to abuse the country’s hospitality

The African National Congress (ANC) has sent a strong message to foreigners not to abuse the country’s hospitality.

This comes after some traders in the Johannesburg city centre including foreigners attacked the police officers.

While there are speculations that the majority were foreign nationals, the ruling party has called on all foreigners to respect law enforcement officers.

” Everyone must obey the laws, citizens, permanent residents and people with visas,” a statement stated.

” Undocumented visitors must respect our sovereignty and respect our laws. No one is above the law and no one must abuse our hospitality.”

This incident has already sparked an element of xenophobia, with foreigners complaining that police treat them different from the locals.
