Bidvest Wits defender S’fiso Hlanti has reportedly attracted interest from Nashville SC in the USA, following an impressive showing at the recently concluded 2019 African Cup of Nations campaign in Egypt.
Hlanti pulled off an impressive performance when he kept the Pharaohs and Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah quiet, putting him on a leash during South Africa’s 1-0 win over the hosts, sending them crashing out of the showpiece at the last 16 stage.
According to a source close to the player as quoted by KickOff.com, the player has caught attention from the Major League Soccer (MLS) outfit.
“Nashville SC from MLS have submitted a bid to sign Hlanti with a view to keep him at Bidvest Wits until December via a loan agreement, as their league campaign will only begin in the new year,” the source revealed.
When Hlanti’s agent Sizwe Ntshangase was approached and asked to comment on the report, he responded that the player should be given some privacy.
“I can’t comment on this because there’s nothing concrete. I would like us to give the player privacy.” Hlanti’s agent said.
The Clever Boys open their 2019/20 league campaign against AmaZulu on Saturday, August 3.
