Bale’s future has been hanging in the balance since his relationship with Real boss Zinedine Zidane went south, with the former French international saying Bale was “very close to leaving” after he was sidelined for their 3-1 pre-season defeat to Bayern Munich. Zidane also further added that the winger’s exit would be “best for everyone”.

The move to China will reportedly see Bale earn £1 million (about R17 million) a week.

The Welsh winger also seems to have played his last game for Los Blancos when he came off the bench to score his side’s equalizer in their 2-2 draw with Arsenal in the International Champions Cup, before they went on to win on penalties.

Bale joined the Spanish outfit for a then world record deal of £85 million from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013.

He still has three years left on his contract with the Bernabeu club where he won 13 trophies including four UEFA Champions Leagues titles, one La Liga title, a Copa del Rey, three Uefa Super Cups and three Club World Cups.

Should his move to China materialize, Bale would be joining a long list of former English Premier League players who have switched for the mega-rich of China, like Marko Arnautovic, Marouane Fellaini, Mousa Dembele and Oscar.
