‘Bale will not leave Madrid on loan’ – Agent refutes “makeshift” deal

Gareth Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett has once again reaffirmed that the Wales international will not be leaving Real Madrid on loan, despite increased speculation regarding his imminent exit from the Spanish giants.

Bale and Zidane have had a hot-and-cold relationship since his big-money £85 million move from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013.

Barnett has since confirmed that the 30-year-old will not leave the club on loan this season, which raises eyebrows if Bale would be sold outright, though he still has three years to run on his current contract, or if he will stay on and fight for his place.

“There will be no makeshift deals to get him out of the club,” Bale’s agent Barnett told Sky Sports.

“Gareth is one of the best players on the planet. I can guarantee you he will not be going on loan to any club.”

Barnett added: “Gareth is a Real Madrid player and for now he’s staying as a Real Madrid player ‘If something comes along that suits us, then things could change and he could be gone in a day or a week. ‘Or he could still be a Real player in three years when his contract ends.”

Despite suffering injuries that have hampered his progress from time-to-time in the not-so-distant past, Bale has arguably been Madrid’s best player since Cristiano Ronaldo left.

In his Madrid career to date, the Wales captain has netted 102 goals in 239 appearances, winning 13 trophies – including four UEFA Champions League crowns.
