Morocco, who are one of the fancied nations to go all the way in the Africa Cup of Nations, take to the field against Benin at the Al-Salam Stadium on Friday afternoon.
The Atlas Lions won all three of their group matches which were all close. They narrowly edged out Ivory Coast 1-0 and needed an 89th-minute own-goal to get past Namibia, before carving out a stoppage-time strike against South Africa via Mbark Boussoufa.
The Squirrels are one of the unbeaten teams so far in the tournament. They played to a 2-2 draw with Ghana in the opening match, before goalless stalemates against Guinea-Bissau and Cameroon which was enough for them to progress as one of the best third-placed teams.
Stephane Sessegnon and Huddersfield striker Steve Mounie bring a lot of English Premier League experience into the side and will look to lead Michel Dussuyer’s charges past Morocco.
