Paramedics confirmed that a female driver was killed and a man injured Friday morning on car crash on the N2 northbound before the M25 Kwa Mashu Highway, North of Durban.
Rescue Care spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said the accident happened just after 9am.
“Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on the scene to find total chaos. Two vehicles had collided head on and left both drivers entrapped in the wreckages. Immediately the Durban Fire Department, as well as Advanced Life Support Paramedics, were dispatched to assist on the scene.”
Jamieson said paramedics believed a female to be in her 50s had sustained major injuries and there was nothing paramedics could do to save her life and she was declared dead on the scene. But paramedics helped the second driver and rushed him to a nearby hospital to get medical assistant.
Paramedics also said the traffic was severely affected as only one of traffic was working.
Jamieson said the police will investigate the cause of the accident.
