Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has been named in Uruguay’s 23-man squad for the Copa America in Brazil despite still recovering from knee surgery.
Luis Suarez is a Uruguayan professional footballer who plays as a striker for Spanish club Barcelona and the Uruguay national team.
The Uruguayan missed Barcelona’s defeat to Valencia in the Copa del Rey final last Saturday after undergoing an operation to repair a torn right meniscus on May 10 revealed SkySports.
Following the operation procedure, the Spanish champions released a statement in which they forecast a four to six week recovery period.
Uruguay will begin their Copa America campaign against Ecuador on June 16 before facing Japan and Chile in Group C.
Celeste head coach Oscar Tabarez also included Paris Saint-German striker Edinson Cavani and departing Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin in his squad.
The Sky Blues will fine-tune their preparations for the continental tournament with a friendly against Panama in Montevideo on June 7.
