Patrice Tlhopane Motsepe is a South African mining businessman and billionaire.
He is the founder and executive chairman of African Rainbow Minerals, which has interests in gold, ferrous metals, base metals, and platinum and also the president of the Premier Soccer League club Mamelodi Sundowns.
Mamelodi Sundowns players and the coaching staff have apparently been handsomely rewarded by club president Patrice Motsepe.
The Siya crew has learnt that the mining magnate and billionaire owner of the Chloorkop outfit has turned coach Pitso Mosimane and his players into instant millionaires by allowing them to share their most recent prize the R10-million from winning the Absa Premiership title as well as their reward for finishing in the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League recently.
Any club going as far as the top four in the continental competition pockets a hefty R12.5-milliion at the current exchange rate.
Motsepe did not leave it there. Siya sources have informed the crew that the Downs supremo has also added an extra R5-million on top of the money he’d already decided the team could share among themselves.
That is a total of R27.5-million that is being shared between a side that is already reported to boast some of the highest earners in the Premier Soccer League.
Well done Mr Motsepe, players need to be rewarded handsomely, in order for them to work hard for the team and to win more trophies and matches.
This is one of attracting good players.
