DStv Now App Crashed during ‘The Bachelor SA’ Finale

MultiChoice on Thursday evening once again fuelled anger and resentment under its DStv subscribers when its DStv Now streaming app once again crashed for the second time in a month and again during a much-anticipated M-Net (DStv 101) show – this time the finale of The Bachelor South Africa.

The DStv Now crash made it impossible for many M-Net viewers and DStv subscribers to watch the conclusion of the show, just giving an “Error 500 – There is a problem with the page you requested” message to desperate and upset DStv subscribers.

The latest DStv Now the technical problem comes just four weeks after DStv Now crashed and wasn’t capable of streaming the first episode of the 8th season of HBO’s Game of Thrones on M-Net for DStv subscribers in South Africa and across sub-Saharan Africa on Monday 15 April.

MultiChoice’s DStv Now problems on Thursday began before, and ran beyond The Bachelor SA and impacted DStv subscribers who wanted to watch soccer on SuperSport as well. They similarly vented and voiced their anger at MultiChoice over DStv Now not working.

By Friday morning MultiChoice has not provided DStv subscribers with an explanation for the latest crash of its DStv Now service. On Thursday night MultiChoice was asked what went wrong with DStv Now this time with the company that didn’t give a reason but confirmed that DStv Now was once again broken.

On social media, MultiChoice told furious DStv subscribers without giving any reason what went wrong, that “we’re aware of the problem with our streaming service. Our technical teams are investigating, and we hope to have everything back to normal soon. Please accept our apologies”.
