Manchester United are yet to tie David de Gea down to a new deal and PSG are ready to put an incredible offer in front of him this summer. PSG currently rely on Alphonse Areola and Gianluigi Buffon between the posts but the French giants are considering their options after a poor season.
Looking beyond the duo a long-term replacement is needed and PSG are known for their willingness to splash the cash. De Gea is out of contract at Old Trafford in June 2020 and his future at Manchester United remains uncertain.
The 28-year-old is also linked with Juventus and Real Madrid, although Zinedine Zidane’s return to the club means Keylor Navas is back up the pecking order – ahead of Thibaut Courtois. However, while this speculation continues at a pace, there are also questions over de Gea’s position in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
Errors against Barcelona, Everton, Manchester City and Chelsea are in stark contrast to his excellent form over the past few years for the club. And his manager is determined to stick with the goalkeeper, who has won the Manchester United Player of the Year award four times.
“David has been a fantastic keeper at this club, his reaction after Manchester City was good and I was confident in him, He knows he could do better with their goal but it’s one of those things again,” said Solskjaer after Sunday’s 1-1 draw.
“David has been unbelievable. We do support each other. There is no chance anyone can blame him for losing points. He knows he could have had that shot but that is football. David is one who likes to play games and I will have chats with him and he will respond in the right way.” He added.
