Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Replace Jose Mourinho As Man United Manager

José Mourinho has been sacked from his job as Manchester United manager after two and a half years at the helm. He has since been replaced by and United players have responded with a rousing 5-1 win over Cardiff City.

In 144 games as coach, Mourinho never saw his team score five, yet in the first game after his departure, records were broken.

The club have made a change after no progress with results or style despite spending nearly £400 million (R7 358 432 698,50 billion) on 11 players.

They also say the new manager will understand the philosophy of the club, including their attacking tradition. More believable, is the idea that Sanchez – who posted the cryptic message on his Instagram account – was playing the Hans Zimmer song on his way into training at Carrington as a sly dig at sacked manager Jose Mourinho.

Indeed, these are worrying times for both United, who are arguably at their lowest point since the departure of long-time manager Alex Ferguson in 2013, and Mourinho, whose illustrious coaching career is at a crossroads as critics question if his abrasive approach, on and off the field, still suits modern-day football.

It is understood players and staff are not happy after a disappointing and unsettling period during which young players were not developed. For the first time since signing a three-year contract with the Red Devils in May 2016, the 55-year-old dad-of-two will not have to rush back to the UK on Christmas Day after enjoying a traditional Christmas Eve dinner with his loved ones.

The out-of-work boss has in the past taken advantage of spells between clubs to opt for New Year in the sun. He flew to the tourist town of Porto de Galinhas in Parnambuco, north-east Brazil, at the end of 2015 after being sacked by Chelsea when he was the Premier League’s highest-paid manager on £10.5million (R193 834 515,00 million) a year.

However, it’s early days to try and find who might replace Mourinho, but Zinedine Zidane has risen to the top of the bookie’s list. The Frenchman recently stepped down after three straight Champions League triumphs as the coach of Real Madrid.

“I know that you are all aware of my professional principles. Each time a chapter is closed I show my deepest respect and I don’t make any comments about my former colleagues.I hope the media will also respect my position and let me live my normal life until the moment I decide to return to football”.
